World Down Syndrome Day

As some of you will know we have a child with Down Syndrome who attends Tickford Park. To raise awareness of this condition, there is a World Down Syndrome Day that takes place on the 21st March. This date – the 21st day of the 3rd month – represents the 3 copies of chromosome 21, which is unique to people with Down syndrome. This year marks the 12th anniversary of World Down Syndrome Day, which is officially recognized by the United Nations. Children are invited to come into school that day with the most colourful odd socks they can find.
