Gingerbread Baking F/S

On Tuesday 27th February, Foundation Stage children will be baking their own gingerbread men and women. They will be able take one home that day and one will stay in school to be decorated at a later date. This is part of our topic of ‘The Gingerbread Man’ which is a week aimed at promoting creative writing. We want to create a little awe and wonder to inspire the children’s writing.

We have been able to create a film showing the gingerbread men escaping, and the children will begin to search for them and write missing posters and letters as part of this.

We will be making a dairy free alternative for children with allergies.

International Mother Language Day - 21 February

“Languages are the most powerful instruments of preserving and developing our tangible and intangible heritage”. This day is aimed at developing a fuller awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions throughout the workd.

International Mother Language Day has been observed every year since February 2000 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.

At TPPS we see this as a great opportunity to discuss and celebrate the range of other languages and cultures with our pupils and community.
